Codeine information

For the relief of moderate to severe pain the morphine derivative codeine is used, mainly in combinations with paracetamol (acetaminophen). It can be a safer alternative to Hydrocodone (vicodin). Codeine is a narcotic pain reliever and anti-inflammatory medication. It is prescribed for moderate to severe pain. 50 mg Codeine is equal to 8 mg Hydrocodone.
